Denver, Colorado (12/16/1998) --- Johns Manville Residential Insulation Division will unveil its Performance Home Builder Program at the 1998 International Builders Show being held January 16 - 19 at the Dallas Convention Center. The program offers builders and homeowners what they want: a family of integrated insulation and weatherization products designed to upgrade a home and make it more comfortable.
Aimed at the move-up homebuyer market, the Johns Manville Performance Home Builder Program is not a simple "bundling" of like-branded products for a rebate. It is intended to increase overall profit potential for builders. According to a recent National Family Opinion Study, 89 percent of new homeowners want energy-efficient upgrade options and 71 percent will sacrifice other upgrades to make their home comfortable.
The Johns Manville Performance Home Builder Program provides numerous benefits to builders. First, the Performance Home computer software establishes the hard numbers to demonstrate to homebuyers the advantages of upgrading insulation and the resulting cost-reduction of energy bills and opportunity for a higher mortgage qualification. The program is easy; builders are able to get started with one phone call to a Johns Manville sales representative. To further reinforce the program, Johns Manville provides marketing support materials such as brochures, public relations assistance, and model home merchandising.
The Johns Manville Performance Home uses its proprietary Performance Home software in its program to maximize overall profit to the builder. The Performance Home computer program factors in size, type and physical characteristics of the home, the region of the country, and energy costs to determine the upgrade. Using the numbers from Johns Manville software, a builder can evaluate insulation upgrade options for specific home types and designs.
In addition to the support of the Performance Home computer program, Johns Manville supports the builder further with merchandising and sales support for their customers, including consumer and builder brochures, model home merchandising aids, sound control demonstrations and public relations assistance. The Johns Manville Performance Home computer program is one of only four recognized energy efficient programs by the National Association of Home Builders. Energy Star and Freddie Mac have also recognized the program.
