Greensboro, North Carolina (11/5/1998) --- Oakwood Homes Corp. (NYSE-OH), the nation's largest retailer of manufactured housing, presented its Seventh Annual President's Manufacturing Supplier of the Year Award to Johns Manville, of Denver, Colo. This is the highest honor bestowed on an Oakwood supplier. The award was presented at a celebration dinner Nov. 4 in Greensboro with more than 120 suppliers from throughout the nation as guests.
Johns Manville was recognized based on high marks the company received on an evaluation system created by Oakwood, according to Vice President - Purchasing and Supplier Management Les Scheer. The score card measures the supplier's performance in areas such as on-time delivery, defect-free products, and emergency response to satisfying customers' needs.
Oakwood's Chairman, President and CEO Nick St. George presented the award to Johns Manville's Steve Wing, director of marketing - building insulation division.
The company was applauded for committing resources and allocations to Oakwood, upholding contract agreements and assisting Oakwood in product and process development.
