1999 International Home Builders Show - Johns Manville ComfortTherm™ Encapsulated Under Floor Fiber Glass Insulation Eliminates the Need for Wire Support

Triple-Reinforced Stapling Flanges are Positioned for Faster Installation

Denver, Colorado (1/15/1999) ---  Floors above unheated crawl spaces, basements and garages can be uncomfortably cold - and the heat loss is significant. Johns Manville ComfortTherm™ Under Floor Fiber Glass Insulation is specifically designed for under floor application and features easy-to-use stapling flanges, eliminating the need for wire or lacing insulation support.

Developed in conjunction with both the professional installation companies in the Pacific Northwest and with the DIYer in mind, ComfortTherm is ideal for new construction or remodeling projects. And ComfortTherm is cost-effective. The triple-reinforced stapling flanges are positioned on the underside of Under Floor Batts for fast and simple installation. These stapling flanges increase crew productivity and eliminate the need for wire or lacing materials for support.

ComfortTherm's encapsulated poly wrap system also reduces airborne fibers and puts one more barrier between the installer and fiber glass. ComfortTherm Under Floor Batts create less dust, which results in greater handling comfort.

Unique to Under Floor Batts, the vapor retarder is reversed so that it faces the interior of the home when installed overhead, and the yellow facing is perforated for breathability.

ComfortTherm Under Floor Batts comes as R-19 15-inch batts with 67.81 square feet per package. In addition, ComfortTherm batts carry a Class A fire rating for low flame spread and have been classified FHC 25/50 by Underwriters Laboratories.
