Denver, Colorado (1/15/1999) --- Johns Manville (JM) Climate Pro® Blow-In Fiber Glass for use in attics and the Blow-In-Blanket® System1 offer a friendly challenge to the building professional: If you can create it, we can insulate it! Climate Pro for attics and BIBS® are specifically designed and engineered for use by the professional in hard-to-reach locations such as corners, crevices, nooks and crannies.
JM is one of only two manufacturers approved for the Blow-In-Blanket System. BIBS is a patented process supported by extensive testing and installer training to ensure optimal performance. Climate Pro loose-fill insulation is blown in behind netting and is perfect for insulating new custom construction framing cavities, including sidewalls, ceilings and floors. It offers a custom fit that is thermally and acoustically superior because it conforms to the shape of any home and reduces heat and noise transmission through wall cavities.
Johns Manville's advanced technology has produced an insulation that is naturally flame-resistant. Unlike cellulose, Climate Pro doesn't rely on flame retardant chemicals that may eventually dissipate. Additionally, Climate Pro won't rot, decay, support fungal growth or provide sustenance for animals.
"Climate Pro is a premium alternative to cellulose with all the advantages of fiber glass," said Jo Anne Cambruzzi, market manager for JM's blowing wool products. "In addition to excellent insulating performance, Climate Pro is naturally clean, noncorrosive, noncombustible and will not absorb moisture." Fiber glass is the most widely used insulation, partially because it's cleaner to use and holds its insulating power. An alternative product, cellulose, unless installed 20-25 percent thicker to compensate for eventual settling, will not retain its full R-value. Properly installed, Climate Pro fiber glass insulation typically settles only one to three percent and maintains its R-value. Climate Pro can provide up to 88 percent greater coverage per pound of product. Bags cover 50 square feet of attic at an R-30 compared to 28-square feet for typical cellulose packages. This reduces the number of bags required for a job by approximately 44 percent.
