These mortgages allow owners to qualify for loans that are typically greater than the original amount they qualified for due to the reduced energy costs anticipated.

 

In addition, Performance Home Builders will have the opportunity to participate in Johns Manville's Model Home program, which educates homeowners about the importance of having thermally and acoustically superior homes. For instance, builders can offer their customers SoundComfort™ upgrades. A 2000 survey conducted for Johns Manville found that 70 percent of home buyers would purchase sound-control upgrades after receiving a recommendation from their builder or realtor. Sound-control upgrades can be used in bathrooms, home offices, home theaters, bedrooms, interior walls and floors.
