Protection from Falls

According to OSHA, falls and falling objects are the leading causes of worker fatalities and injuries.

The OSHA standard also protects workers from the danger of falling objects.

If you need to reach higher areas, use a scaffold, ladder, or stilts to access the work. Ask the supervisor what your local codes permit and make sure you know how to use the equipment properly and safely.

If your work site is not properly safeguarded, talk to the job superintendent first. If that doesn’t help, call your employer for instructions. The health and safety regulations are both for your own protection and for the welfare of the people who work with you.
