Safety on the Job

Introduction

This Johns Manville program will focus on basic safety measures every insulation installer should be aware of.

You will be seeing examples of appropriate personal protective equipment; …safeguards that are important when working with insulation materials, …and techniques that will help to prevent accidental injuries.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is an agency with duties to protect your health. There are certain recommended practices that you are expected to follow.

The personal safety of construction workers is considered so important by Johns Manville that there are reminders about necessary safeguards on every Johns Manville product label, as well as instructions on what to do in case of contact.

Under OSHA’s Hazardous Communications Standards – HAZCOM – you have product warning labels or Material Safety Data Sheets – MSDS.
